the Cub Scout Astronomy Belt Loop and Education Pin ,
the Boy Scout Astronomy Badge and
the Girl Scout Sky Search and Brownies Space Explorer Badges.

Stargazing For Everyone has special scouting programs
that address the requirements for
the Cub Scout Astronomy Belt Loop and Education Pin ,
the Boy Scout Astronomy Badge and
the Girl Scout Sky Search and Brownies Space Explorer Badges.

Use our Stargazing Discovery Activity Sheet to help
complete your Stargazing / Astronomy requirements.

Select from our scout telescope and binocular stargazing programs,
our scout planetarium programs, and our special scout lectures.

These programs are adaptable for any age audience
and for groups from 10 to 150 or more. 

All major credit cards are accepted
for an additional processing fee.


Scout Telescope and Binocular Stargazing Programs:

These programs are designed to satisfy any badge requirements needing  telescopes or binoculars, and making general sky observations.  These are outdoor programs with the scouts using telescopes and binoculars to make their observations.

  • Learn about the different types of telescopes
  • Use a telescope to find and monitor night sky objects
  • Observe the moon and track the moon's nightly position
  • Identify and observe the planets
  • Track planetary positions in the night sky
  • Photograph the night sky, the moon and planets
  • Learn to read a star chart
  • Learn the constellations
  • Learn about stars

Scout Planetarium Programs:

Using Stargazing For Everyone's StarLab Portable Planetariums, these programs are designed to satisfy any badge requirements to visit and learn about a planetarium.  These are indoor programs, go to our StarLab Portable Planetarium page for room size requirements.

Special Scout Lectures:

Each lecture is customized for the scout group and includes a 20 to 40 minute slide presentation followed by a question and answer period.  These lectures can be outdoors and combined with telescope viewing or they can be indoors.

The lecture can include any of the following topics and more:

  • The Sun, Earth, and Moon - eclipses and the seasons
  • The myth and lore of the stars and constellations from many cultures
  • Women in astronomy
  • Space exploration
  • Living in space
  • A special topic of your choice (call to arrange a special topic lecture)
