Night-Time Stargazing Parent-Child Class

A one night, three (3) hour stargazing class for adults and children.
This class is structured for an adult/child pair to explore the universe from the moon to the planets and beyond.
The night includes a lecture and multimedia presentation on the wonders of the universe and using star chart
followed by instruction on using a telescope and a hands-on telescope viewing session.

Telescope and Binocular Stargazing Classes

These are "Hands and Eyes" on classes under the stars where you use telescopes and binoculars to observe the evening sky. Telescopes and binoculars will be available for your use or bring your own. Binocular and telescope basics are explained, and the limitations of size and types are discussed.

Learn to identify the constellations and listen to sky folklore
Learn how to use planispheres and star charts to find your way to interesting objects to observe
Learn how to set-up and use a telescope

Observe the moon, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies.
See detailed views of craters on the moon, the cloud bands of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, nebulae,
and galaxies millions of light-years away.
Learn simple techniques for photographing the night sky and the moon.
Photographic equipment will be available for your use or bring your own.
